Well this sucks...

In February of this year, I injured my groin during sprinting exercises. At the time I figured it was a strained muscle and brushed it off as if it were any typical stress injury. I continued to play soccer in three different leagues and ran regularly all while having a nagging pain in my left groin. Unfortunately, unlike a typical strain, my symptoms got progressively worse as the months dragged on. Last month I finally broke down and decided to see a doctor after having to limp for a full day after a soccer match. Turns out I have a substantial tear in the Labrum of my left hip, which if I’m being honest with myself, was likely exacerbated by my failure to investigate the problem early on. Unfortunately, given the size of the tear, the only real option I have in regards to the lifestyle I enjoy, is to undergo surgery. My doctor says that the success rate of this procedure for somebody my age is exceptionally high. He also said that cases of this in twenty five year olds is quite uncommon. Three cheers for being an outlier!
