Ports

November 24 2017

This site has been down since mid October. One of the unforeseen consequences of moving into my van full time is I have nowhere to host my Pi cluster, and in turn, this site. A few friends of mine were letting me use their router from March through October, however their lease expired and in turn they used the opportunity to transfer to Google offices in other parts of the US. I could have moved my binaries to either AWS or GCE but half the fun of this project is utilizing the cluster.

Over the Thanksgiving holiday I travelled back to San Diego and have installed the cluster there temporarily. The U-verse router I’m currently using won’t allow me to enable port forwarding on 443 so until I find a new, more permanent home for my micro computers this site will live on port 5000. Hear that? It’s the sound of my Google Search rank crumbling.
